Melbourne Chapter

Jet Activities started happening in melbourne some time during year 2001 . A small group of JET volunteers supported by local residents with mangalasasanams of Chinna Jeeyar swami started growing .

melbourne volunteersIn 2002 group organised Sri Andal Ranganatha Thiru Kalyanam ( A Marriage Ceremony to deities)  400+ devotees have attended the ceremony.

Initiative has been praised for bringing vedic culture to Australia. Melbourne has been active and promoting Vedic and spiritual events at various suburbs. His Holyness Swamiji visited Melbourne in 2003 in his Australia and Newzealand Peace tour. Since then Melbourne chapter has been conducting vedic spiritual and Community services. Melbourne satsang has been blessed with swamiji visits in 2007 , 2009.

Chapter Activities
  • Organise vedic and spiritual educational events
  • Runs Prajna centers around melbourne promotes vedic education to children thru Prajna Classes.
  • Develop Satsang in local suburbs where Chant Sanskrit Slokas , Gita and Sri Vishnu Sahasranama
  • Conducts Vedic sabhas , Yagas spiritual events to promote unity and peace among communities.
  • Colloborate with Local Australian communities and involve in Cancer Awareness Programs thru VTSEVA
  • Colloborate with Local Australian organisations and participate in Environment Protection Campaigns.
  • Colloborate with Local Australian organisations and support blind Educational programs.

Sri RamaNavami – Oneday Retreat – 28th March 2015

We are Celebrating SitaRama Kalyanam on Sri Rama Navami Day (28th March) by organizing one day SPIRITUAL RETREAT (from 10am to 9pm) where we all meet, cook prasadam (in the hall itself) and perform Thiru Kalyanam for Lord Sita and Rama. Join us to celebrate this event as a JET family get-together.

Recent Activities

JET Melbourne Chapter Participation in Australia Day Parade

JET Australia Foundation, Melbourne chapter’s application to participate in the Australia Day Parade was successful and accepted by the Australia Day Victoria Committee. Every year The Australia Day is celebrated on 26th January (same as Indian Republic Day) and JET volunteers participated in the Parade with great enthusiasm.
Australia Day is a National festival where thousands participate and is widely covered by the media and was a great occasion to promote Sri Swamiji’s mission promote “Worship your Own, Respect All” and “Serve All Beings as Service to God” in the wider community.
Thousands thronged both sides of the parade area cheering the various parade groups. His Excellency the Honourable Alex Chernov, Governor of Victoria, Honourable Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria and other dignitaries were present and as our group passed them, the following lines were read out on the Audio System:
“JET Australia Foundation is a not for profit organisation founded by His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji with chapters across Australia. JET’s Mission is to bring peace & harmony in the society by promoting the principles “Worship Your Own, Respect All” and “Serve All Beings as Service to God” and by organising various community events, multicultural events and Charity Dinner. JET also organises Environmental Protection activities, Moral Education for children, Cancer & Blind support and promotes Organ Donation in liaison with DonateLife”.

GitaJayanthi 2014

Celebrating Gi:tha Jayanthi has been a tradition for JET Melbourne for the last 3 years. JET Bandhus successfully recited the entire 700 slo:kas of Bagavad Gi:tha, at end of each chapter ‘mangala haarati’ was offered to the lord. The program concluded with ‘maha prasadam’ (dinner).
